Coffee Star — Halal Office Coffee Service Malaysia
Malaysia's Bumiputera-owned, halal-certified office coffee company. 114+ IoT-connected Auto-Barista Machines across Malaysia and Saudi Arabia. Founded by Raja Ahmad Fauzan in April 2019.
The idea: a 1 m² café anywhere
Coffee Star was founded in April 2019 by Malaysian engineer-turned-entrepreneur Raja Ahmad Fauzan with a single thesis: people don't go to cafés for the floor space — they go for the coffee. So why not bring the café to where the people already are: their offices, hotel lobbies, hospitals, transport hubs, mosques?
The product became the Coffee Star Auto-Barista Machine — a self-serve coffee bar that fits into roughly one square metre, brews Fairtrade-certified specialty coffee, and is IoT-connected to the cloud for centralised inventory, predictive maintenance and customer analytics. It's a blend of Malaysian product thinking and Swiss-precision brewing engineering.
Why halal & Bumiputera matter here
In Malaysia's office coffee market, halal certification isn't a marketing add-on — it's the floor. Coffee Star supplies JAKIM-aligned halal-certified coffee across the supply chain: bean sourcing, roasting partnerships, packaging, ingredient additions, and machine cleaning protocols.
Coffee Star is also Bumiputera-owned, which makes it eligible for procurement pathways into government-linked companies (GLCs), Bumiputera economic empowerment programmes and SME Corp Malaysia ESG initiatives. This is a meaningful differentiator vs international OCS competitors and unlocks corporate partnerships that prioritise ESG and Bumiputera supply chain.
